In sedinta GPTI au fost aprobate proiectele de extindere a Sistemului
Electronic National, respectiv asigurarea elementelor de inalta
disponibilitate, precum si a sistemului informatic de atribuire
electronica a autorizatiilor de transport international
de marfa. …Un alt proiect important aprobat astazi este cel
al dezvoltarii Sistemului informatic pentru imbunatatirea sistemului
fiscal romanesc – Ministerul Finantelor Publice, care va permite
conversia totala a dosarului fiscal in format electronic.

Programul e-Tineret cuprinde o serie de actiuni menite sa vina
in intampinarea necesitatilor tinerilor, sa le permita sa-si
valorifice potentialul la cote maxime si sa ii pregateasca pentru
a trai si a munci, incepand cu 1 ianuarie 2007, in Uniunea Europeana
largita.

Functionarii care refuza sa accepte plata taxelor prin mijloace
electronice, favorizand astfel coruptia si birocratia vor fi
sanctionati, a declarat, ieri, premierul Adrian Nastase. El
a anuntat ca institutiile statului vor trimite la birourile
de plata a impozitelor „ofiteri sub acoperire“ care vor verifica
modul de respectare a regulilor de functionare a sistemului
informatic de achitare a taxelor si vor aplica, in baza unei
hotarari de Guvern ce va fi aprobata in urmatoarele 10 zile,
masuri de sanctionare a celor care nu accepta acest procedeu.

The Digital Democracy Observatory of the Complutense University of
Madrid will evaluate the social acceptance of Internet voting
during a pilot to be carried out on 14/03/2004 in the Municipality
of Jun, near Granada. In addition to observing the voters’ behaviour
when voting through a computer or a mobile phone, the researchers
will also carry out a survey.

Chinese authorities have blocked the Chinese version websites
of the Wall Street Journal and Deutsche Welle newspapers, a
Paris-based media rights group says. The sites have been blocked
since the opening of the annual parliament session, the National
People's Congress, in Beijing on March 5, Reporters Without
Borders said in a statement.

The Code of Practice aims at promoting and facilitating
the proper use of the ‘Personal Public Service Number’ in accordance
with relevant legislation. The Personal Public Service Number
(PPS number) is a unique identifier for use in any transactions
between an individual and a public body, which is expected to
become a feature of an ever-increasing number of Irish e-government
transactional services.

A ‘single sign on’ is a session/user authentication process
that allows a user to access multiple applications by entering
only one name and password. The system selected by the Belgian
Government will be provided by Oblix, a US developer of identity-based
security solutions. Its objective is to improve service delivery
while simplifying cross-agency collaboration and centralising
administration of user profiles for their respective IT staffs.

The Council – which recognised important progress made on the
eEurope 2005 Action Plan, particularly in the areas of broadband
and e-government – confirmed that the eEurope 2005 targets will
remain valid in the context of the enlargement of the EU to
25 Member States. In this respect, the Council has renewed its
calls for strong political commitment at all levels in order
to meet the eEurope 2005 targets and deliver the productivity
gains and job creation expected.
