A treia editie a festivalului Internetics va debuta pe 11 august
odata cu lansarea site-ului www.internetics.ro. Ca si la editiile
precedente, inscrierile se vor desfasura timp de o luna direct
pe site. Internetics 2003 include 8 categorii distincte, 5 dintre
ele fiind zone competitionale (la care se adauga marele premiu
INTERNETICS - Agentia anului '03) iar celelalte 3 constituind
galerii virtuale.

Astazi, 1 august 2003, la sediul Ministerului Comunicatiilor
si Tehnologiei Informatiei a avut loc Întâlnirea de constituire
a Grupului de Lucru cu privire la evaluarea stadiului actual
de dezvoltare a României din punct de vedere al e-Rediness,
coordonata de Diana Voicu, director general adjunct în Directia
Generala de Strategia si Dezvoltarea Societatii Informationale.

In Romania, 2,2 milioane de persoane utilizeaza Internetul,
acesta atingand o rata de penetrare de 10%, fata de 2% in 1998,
iar numarul domeniilor .ro s-a triplat in ultimii doi ani, ajungand
la aproape 50.000, informeaza Ministerul Comunicatiilor si Tehnologiei
Informatiei (MCTI).

Three major French players active in the field of e-tendering
and e-procurement services for public authorities have decided
to join forces, it was announced on 08/07/2003. Localmundi (subsidiary
of Dexia Crédit Local and Groupe Moniteur), Ternova-Achats (subsidiary
of France Telecom) and Localtis-Achats (subsidiary of Caisse
des Dépôts et Consignations) have decided to merge to create
a new and bigger player in the field of public e-procurement,

developed to help people in poor countries go online. Aidbase,

a smart card scheme in the UK. The draft policy framework, Smart
Cards: Enabling e-Government, is up for a three-month consultation
period. The document claims that, "widespread adoption of smart

The Spanish Government approved on 11/07/2003 its long-awaited
new action plan for the development of the Information Society,
called 'España.es'. The new plan will replace Info XXI, a previous
plan launched in 2000 and that did not deliver the expected
results. Covering a two-years period (2004-2005), it is partly
based on the recommendations of an experts commission on the
Information Society ('Soto' Commission), unveiled last April.
