Primaria Municipiului Iasi va utiliza un sistem informatic integrat
de gestiune economica conceput, proiectat si realizat integral
in Romania.
Aplicatia rezolva activitatile de contabilitate generala, personal-salarizare,
gestiune materiale, obiecte de inventar, mijloace fixe si financiar,
fiind adaptata in intregime legislatiei si practicii romanesti
din domeniul administratiei publice locale.

Data limita pana la care aceste sisteme trebuie sa fie implementate
prevazuta in ordonanta guvernamentala nr. 24/2002 din 30 ianuarie
2002 (devenita ulterior Legea nr. 291 din 15 mai 2002), este
de 1 februarie 2003, in cazul municipiilor si 1 noiembrie 2003,
in cazul autoritatilor administratiei publice locale de la nivelul
oraselor.

65 applications representing "the best practices of public administrations
in Europe" have been selected for exhibition at the EU's Ministerial
Conference eGovernment 2003, taking place 7-8 July in Villa
Erba, Como (Italy). Ministers responsible for public administration
and for telecommunications from some 40 countries will attend
the conference, to discuss how technology can help provide more
inclusive and personalised services and increase the productivity
and accountability of public administrations.

Report Finds

Nearly 90 percent of government executives outsource activities
that are "important or absolutely critical" to their mission
of citizen service delivery, according to a study released today
by Accenture. Only 2 percent of government executives surveyed
said that outsourcing is "relatively unimportant to their mission"
of delivering services to citizens.

A report released Monday predicts that UK public sector spending
on technology will grow by 9 percent a year until 2005. The
report from research firm Ovum Holway, which is previewed in
the Financial Times, notes that the commercial market for software
and services will grow just 0.3 percent a year between 2001
and 2005, a poor showing compared to the buoyant public sector.

Some difficulties were recorded on 18/05/2003 in the Belgian
communes were electronic polling booths were in use for the
general elections, which renewed both federal assemblies of
the country. Serious delays have occurred in voting operations,
and some polling stations had to remain open well after the
official closure time of 15.00 local time.

Electronic ID cards will be introduced in Spain at the end of
this year or at the beginning of 2004 - in any case before the
end of the current parliament in March 2004. This was recently
confirmed by the Head of IT of the National Police force speaking

The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM) has established
a standards body to cut out any duplication of resources for
developing electronic services in local government. The Local
e-Government Standards Body, which is the latest National Project,
will provide councils and their IT partners with information
on existing e-developments to prevent authorities making unnecessary
investments and effort.

Eighty-two innovative local e-government projects - from 'smart'
library and transport cards to a shared database on abandoned
cars - are to receive a share of £26 million Government funding.
Projects winning funding are partnerships between different
local authorities which have joined forces to share expertise,

across council boundaries.
